Springtime

I left Tia and Landon in the living room with some snacks today while I did some work on the computer. When it got very quiet, I decided that I needed to investigate their whereabouts. This is what I found...

While I am not thrilled with the fact that they went outside without asking first (or that Tia found it necessary to try and climb on top of the monkey bars) I love that they are beginning to enjoy one another and play together. It's very sweet to watch their relationship develop.
It's also very sweet that Tia learned this week how to pump her own legs on the swings! YEA! Pushing kids on swings is perhaps one of the most loathsome tasks of motherhood for me. I don't know why, but I just don't like to do it. So I am always ecstatic when they figure that skill out for themselves.
Aaaaannnddd... now Landon is standing under his swing crying because he wants to be pushed. *sigh* Two down, one to go.

Ahem. i have NO kids who can swing themselves...yes, I'm serious. We also don't have a swingset so they get very little practice, but still...do they have OT for that?

I missed the swinging phase b/c Ryder has always hated to swing. Don't know why. How cute the 2 blondies playing together.

Is it bad that we told you (before you were 3) we would not buy you a swing until you leaned to pump your legs and swing yourself? And being the very determined child you were , you quickly did it! So for your 3rd birthday, you got a swing! FYI when I am at your house, I cannot watch Tia climb on top of the monkeybars. She scares me to death!

Oh, how I wish Morgan would learn to pump! My arms are about to fall off from pushing. If there's sun in the sky at all, she wants to be outside swinging - endlessly!

Yes, it is very sweet to watch their relationship develop, to watch them playing and communication in their childish language. They are so cute.
As for the swings, I love this thing. It's my favourite thing in childhood though sometimes it IS boring to push them all the time.
